Smoky Mountain Destination Wedding

Smoky Mountain Destination Wedding Checklist
Planning a wedding is a challenge. It's stressful and time-consuming, so here's a super useful Smoky Mountain Destination Wedding Checklist!

Your Wedding Checklist ✅

First of all… Congratulations! You are getting married! The top of our mountain in the Smokies is a fabulous choice.

That’s so exciting, but planning a wedding isn’t easy. Planning can be a stressful and time-consuming process. A destination wedding in the beautiful Smoky Mountains adds an extra layer of excitement–and a layer of complexity. With its stunning views, romantic atmosphere, and endless opportunities for adventure, the Smoky Mountains are amazing, but there are LOTS of details to consider. That’s why it’s important to stay organized and create a checklist to ensure everything runs smoothly on your big day.

We not only have an amazing venue for your wedding, reception, and more, but we want to make planning your special day as simple as possible. That’s why we want to offer you this Destination Planning Checklist.

We’ll even fill some of it out for you!

Before we get to the event checklist, let us tell you all The Vieux has to offer.

The Vieux (pronounced “View”) is the complete package—a gorgeous wedding venue, amazing views, and overnight lodgings—the ideal space to hold your nuptial celebrations. You can tie the knot by the pavilion, in the outside chapel, or directly in front of the mountain view, followed by an outdoor reception or retreat to the cabin for a cozy get-together.

With at least a 2-night rental, you only pay an additional $200 for an extra cleaning fee to use our mountain top as a Wedding Venue and Vieux as a reception area. Extend your celebration and make the most of your special day or honeymoon on the property in a cozy cabin.

Also, you can choose whomever you want for your special day, but we have some recommended vendors. Just to let you know, we don’t get any referral fees from any of these, but we love working with them.

Ok, now…

Smoky Mountain Destination Wedding Checklist

This obviously isn’t all-inclusive, but this covers most event decisions and players.

THE BEST PART: Your stay at The Vieux can check off much of this list, and we’ll provide our recommended vendors.

  • Work out your budget. This should include the typical wedding items and don’t forget travel expenses and accommodations.
  • Draft up your guest list. (Remember your budget)
  • Decide on a venue and set a date. Check out The Vieux’s availability here.Consider seasons for weather and cost.
  • Hire a planner. Do not skip this step. 😉
  • Reserve your honeymoon suite.  The Vieux 😉
  • Set up a wedding room block. 😉  The Vieux can sleep up to 20 guests. Five additional onsite cabins and 4 rental units can accommodate up to 36 additional guests.
  • Work with your wedding planner or venue coordinator to find vendors.
  • Review contracts and get everything in writingEverything.
  • Book the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner location(s). Destination wedding etiquette usually involves inviting everyone to the rehearsal dinner or some sort of pre-wedding event.
  • Set dates and locations for bridal showers and bachelor/ bachelorette parties. Create a guest list and let your Maid of Honor or Best Man handle the rest.
  • Book wedding-day transportation 😉 (not needed if you use The Vieux)
  • Finalize honeymoon plans 😉 We got that covered too!

You don’t have to take our word for it. Feel free to research, read reviews, and ask for recommendations to ensure you’re hiring reputable and trustworthy vendors.

As the big day approaches, it’s important to stay organized and on top of all the details (that’s why wedding planners are SUPER helpful). Create a detailed timeline outlining each aspect of your wedding day, from hair and makeup appointments to the ceremony and reception. Share this timeline with your vendors and bridal party to ensure that everyone is on the same page and knows where they need to be and when.

In conclusion, planning a destination wedding in the Smoky Mountains can be a dream come true, but it requires careful organization and attention to detail. By creating a checklist and staying on top of all the details, you can ensure that your wedding day is everything you’ve ever dreamed of and more. So take a deep breath, soak in the beauty of the mountains, and get ready to say “I do” in one of the most romantic and picturesque settings in the world.

Tanner Manor

Your Home Away From Home began in 2016 with our first cabin purchase in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. When we set it up, we wanted it to be ready for us to go to and relax in at any time. We wanted it to truly be our home away from home and realized that this is how it should be for all of our guests as well.
